EULEMA General Assembly 2026 Convenes in Strasbourg, Elects New Board and Affirms European Interfaith Engagement

The grand mosque of Strasbourg hosted the general assembly of EULEMA, the European Muslim Leaders Council. Established in 2022 in Brussels, EULEMA received official registration as International NGO and the Royal decree from the Belgian Ministry of Justice in 2023. The members are European Muslim leaders in the fields of religious studies, interfaith dialogue and education from 18 European Countries.

EULEMA General Assembly elected the new Board members for 2026–2028: Amina Baghajati from Austria, mufti Nedzad Grabus from Bosnia, imam David Munir from Portugal, Suaad Onniselka from Finland, imam Yahya Pallavicini (chairman) from Italy, Esma Uçan from Belgium.

The opening of the EULEMA General Assembly at the grand mosque of Strasbourg was honoured by the presence of Mons. Marco Ganci, permanent observer of the Holy See to the Council of Europe, and Mrs. Irene Kitsou-Milonas, Special Representative of the Council of Europe Secretary General on antisemitism, anti-Muslim hatred and all forms of religious intolerance.
