Abdassamad El Yazidi, President of the Supreme Council of Muslims in Germany (ZMD) and member of EULEMA (European Muslim Leaders Majlis), participated in the 7th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Baku, Azerbaijan, held from 27–29 October 2026.

On the sidelines of the forum, El Yazidi held high-level discussions with Miguel Ángel Moratinos, UN High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations; Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, Secretary-General of the OIC; Dr. Salim M. AlMalik, Director-General of ICESCO; and Ambassador António de Almeida-Ribeiro, Acting Secretary General of KAICIID.

The discussions focused on combating anti-Muslim racism, strengthening interreligious dialogue, and expanding cooperation between Muslim institutions and international organizations.

El Yazidi also met with Germany’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan to explore opportunities for strengthening relations between Germany and the Muslim world through international dialogue initiatives.

“Dialogue must go beyond words and lead to concrete partnerships that promote mutual respect, equality and peaceful coexistence,” El Yazidi emphasized.
