  • Have been the driving force behind and founding principal of three private schools for Muslim children in Copenhagen.
  • Former vice chairman in Islamic-Christian Study Center.
  • Vast international experience due to participation in a large number of international conferences on inter-religious relations.
  • Have been actively engaged in dawah for more nearly 40 years and I have had the great pleasure of having more than 1,300 people take Islam in my presence.
  • Have participated in countless TV and radio broadcasts as well as newspaper articles over the past from 1988 to 2013 introducing Islam and Islamic matters to the gross Danish society. Became Muslim in 1982.
  • Founder and chairman of a Danish relief organization (1987) completing relief and development projects in a large number of countries. This organization developed into what is today known as Danish Muslim Aid.
  • Former vice Chairman in Muslims in Dialogue – a Danish organization for Muslims in Denmark.
  • Imam, elected by the congregation of Danish speaking Muslims in 1997.
  • Committee member of European Muslim Forum – a European organization working on coordinating an effort for the benefit of Muslims and the meeting between Muslim and non-Muslim societies in Europe across the national boundaries.
  • Committee member of EULEMA – a European network of Muslim leaders and scholars.
  • Committee member of MJLC – Muslim Jewish Leadership Council.
  • More than 1000 courses, speeches and lectures given on Islam and related matters.
  • Active participation in numerous projects, organizations and legal bodies working on integration of immigrant youth into Danish society, without the loss of own identity.
  • Was brought up as a Christian, spent time without a religion. I practised Hinduism for more than four years and was finally blessed with Islam in 1982. This background gives me a lot of options to understand and communicate with people from other faiths.
  • Chairman of the Muslim Council of Denmark.
