Suaad Onniselka

Deputy Principal.

Suaad Onniselkä has master’s degree from University of Joensuu, Finland, and teacher qualifications in Religious Education (Islam), Physics and Mathematics from University of Helsinki. She was second in Finland in 2009 to be qualified as RE teacher in Islam in Finland. Suaad Onniselkä has also Principal Qualification from Finnish National Board of Education.

In educational field Suaad Onniselkä has over 10 years of experience as subject teacher, over 5 years of experience as school leader and several years of experience as teacher trainer in City of Helsinki. Suaad Onniselkä works currently as Deputy Principal in Helsinki, Finland.

Suaad Onniselkä has appointed in several working groups in Finnish National Board of Education. She has coordinated during 2010-2020 schoolbook project for comprehensive school in grades 1-9 for Islamic Education. Books are also translated in Swedish. She has been working in 2014 National curricula in RE work group for grades 1-9, in 2016 National curricula in RE work group for grades 10-12 and in 2021 National curricula work group in Religious Education for grades 10-12. In all those she had the responsibility over Islamic Education. In 2020 National curricula she worked in evaluation work group in basic education, grade 9, in team of evaluation in Physics and Chemistry. In 2021 National curricula she worked also as team member in Transversal Competences and Values. In 2021 National curricula work in evaluation in basic education, support materials for teachers, she was responsible over materials of Islamic Education and 2022 National curricula work in evaluation in basic education, team of evaluation for grade 6, she had responsibility over materials of Islamic Education.

Suaad Onniselkä has worked also internationally in 2018 as Senior Technical Advisor in UNESCO Kabul’s Afganistan’s curriculum project in Islamic education for grades 1-12.
