Said Aalla

Role & Institutional Position

President of the Grande Mosquée de Strasbourg, one of the most prominent mosques in France, serving the large Muslim community of the Alsace region.

President of the Conseil Régional du Culte Musulman d’Alsace (Regional Council of the Muslim Religion, Alsace) and co-founder of Muslim chaplaincy in Bas-Rhin.

By profession a social worker, Said Aalla has dedicated his leadership to strengthening Muslim community institutions, interfaith cooperation, and the pastoral care of young French Muslims navigating the questions of living Islam in a secular society.

European Engagement

Member of the EULEMA delegation to the Vatican (October 2025), contributing to high-level Catholic–Muslim dialogue at the Holy See.
